Jeron Wilson.

Wilson was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, United States. Wilson started skating around the age of nine when he was introduced to the sport by his cousin. Jeron Wilson grew up skating with many skaters but the most notable are Weston Correa and Ethan Fowler. At that time, the trio skated for Blue Alliance Skate Shop in Chatsworth California. Although Blue Alliance was a small shop, it was well known as the team always successfully competed in the Powell Quarter Master tournaments, held at the Powell Peralta Skate Park in Goleta, California. At the young age of 13, Jeron was known in the valley for his skills on a skateboard, including his incredible "pop." Wilson displayed incredible control over his skateboard at a young age. He was one of the first skaters to master the switch 360 flip which remained one of his signature tricks throughout his career.

The Girl company, the inaugural brand of the company, originated in 1993 after a selection of team riders from the World Industries distribution company - notably Mike Carroll and Rick Howard - decided to found their own brand.

Howard explained in a 2000 interview:

Part of the reason we started Girl was so pro skateboarders would have a future. Take Royal, for instance. When Guy Mariano and Rudy Johnson's legs don't work anymore, at least what they've done for skateboarding and their ideas can continue with something they can fall back on. All the Girl Distribution companies are based around people who have helped Girl get to where it is today.

In 2019, Girl turns Simon Bannerot and Tyler Pacheco pro at the Crailtap HQ during a First Look of the August 2019 issue of Thrasher Magazine, with their pro ad inside.

Girl also adds the first-ever girl to the team, Breana Geering, from Vancouver, Canada.

In 2020, Girl releases "Nervous Circus" and turn Griffin Gass and Niels Bennett pro. They also introduce Rowan Davis, as a new amateur to the team.
